Hard Drive Data Recovery
We operate a three tier changing policy for data recovery from hard drive, both mechanical and SSD although the recovery process is usually vastly different. The additional requirements for your recovery are then added to these bands. Working like this allows us to tailor your recovery price to the service you actually need. This keeps the costs to the minimum making our service accessible to all . We recover, repair and replace.
Mechanical Hard Drives
Mechanical hard drives make up the bulk of drives on the market. They are relatively cheap to produce to a high capacity and the technology is now well established. All those spinning parts makes them fragile and vulnerable particularly to physical damage in mobile devices.

Additional Charges
£50 per additional 1 TB.
For each additional Terrabyte band capacity of the drive recover. eg. a 3 TB drive would be + £50, a 4 TB drive £100 on top of our standard rate..
£50 Encrypted Drive
There are two types of encryption we normally see on a drive. File system encryption such as bitlocker or filevault and self encrypting devices. Both of these can greatly hinder data recovery. We can not decrpt devices without encryption keys.
£100 Open Drive Fee
We see a lot of drives people have opened to look inside, take to a local computer store or have attempted DIY fixes seen on the internet. We normally need to fix the problems this causes before attempting recovery. Opening the drive greatly reduces the chance of a successful recovery as such this fee is payable even if we can not recover data.
Donor Parts
If we need to replace parts to recover your data we charge for the parts. These costs are specific to your device. These could be relatively inexpensive for the more common parts, however new or rare devices can be expensive. Before proceeding with this stage we will always confirm you are happy to cover any additional costs.
Recovery Media
We need to return your data on a device.. You're welcome to supply suitable recovery media to use or we can provide one at an additional cost.
SSD, mSATA & M.2 Hard Drives
SSD drives have no moving parts the data is stored electronically on NAND chips. These drives are considerably quicker than mechanical ones but have yet to reach the same cost per gigabyte of traditional drives. SSD drives pose a new and different challenge for data recovery.

We do our best to keep within our guide prices. There are times however when a drive may be severely damaged which increase recovery costs. If this is the case we will contact you before any additional costs are incurred.
